Do you have what it takes to convince others?

24 July 2021, Seytoo
Do you have what it takes to convince others?

Be sure of yourself, have confidence in yourself. To be convincing, it is undeniable to be convinced yourself. There is no room for doubt in your head.

Knowing how to convince is a very important faculty in everyday life. Indeed, we are constantly confronted with situations which call on our strength of conviction (parents, teacher, employer, client…). Being convincing allows you to gain respect and defend your ideas. The power of persuasion is not necessarily linked to authority but rather stems from the implementation of strategy. Do you want to know how to convince others? Here is some advice…

Be physically and psychologically ready to convince. Indeed, your level of persuasion will depend as much on what you say as on your attitude. There is no room for improvisation.

Isolate yourself to concentrate. Rehearse your “pleading” aloud to judge its relevance and identify any changes that need to be made.

Do not try to advance 10,000 arguments. The dispersion of ideas is detrimental to the argument. Be concise and precise; keep only the 2 or 3 main ideas. The important thing is not to have a lot of ideas but to have concrete arguments.

Be sure of yourself, have confidence in yourself. To be convincing, it is undeniable to be convinced yourself. There is no room for doubt in your head.

Anticipate any comments and objections that will be made to you. As an argument is never infallible, your strength will be to know how to bounce back and respond to the problems rose.

Finally, during your “pleading,” remember to take your audience to task. Call them to involve them, to make them aware of your request. Indeed, an audience that feels concerned about a subject is more likely to be convinced.
