Conflict at work can be stressful and unproductive for anyone. Learn how to adjust it to make your work environment more fulfilling. Follow these few steps to alleviate clumsiness in the workplace.
Decide if you want to confront the person who is bothering you. Sometimes it is better to show your claws tactfully at first and clarifies things instead of suffering silently.
Talk to this person calmly, politely and rationally. If your conflict relates to a specific situation, make sure you focus only on that situation and avoid personal attacks.
Be careful not to express hostility with your body language or the tone of your voice. Express yourself without being aggressive.
Accept to listen carefully to the person when they decide to answer you: What is he / she answering? Be sure to understand his or her position.
Express your interest in what your opponent is telling you. You can recognize her ideas without necessarily agreeing with her. Say “I understand how you feel. But I think… ”. You must then recognize your two positions.
Make sure you clearly communicate what you want to say, make positive suggestions and recommendations. Be prepared to be flexible.
Speak to your supervisor if a problem with a difficult co-worker is seriously threatening your job, but most importantly, don't whine.
