Like any food, garlic cannot be kept for too long unless you use a few good techniques, old-fashioned methods, of course, but no less effective than the modern methods found today. These are simpler methods but also more practical. How to store the garlic?
Keep the garlic heads hanging in a cool place. For this, practice the braid. The principle is simple. Braid the coarse string at the same time as the stems, and incorporate new heads of garlic as the braid lengthens. Thus, each head of garlic will be fully in contact with the air.
Another way to store garlic is to peel it, then place the garlic cloves in a tightly closed jar. Close the jar directly and put it in the refrigerator. In addition, garlic that is not yet peeled can also be buried in a glass container with sand. Once the garlic is well covered with sand, close the container. This will keep the garlic as long as possible.
Also, to keep the garlic as long as possible, dry it in the sun for four days right after picking. Once dry, put in a dry place, away from the sun but also from moisture.
