“How did I get pregnant twice, during my mental illness?” A sad and true story...

“When I couldn't afford to pay the rent anymore, I went to see my big sister with the same father and mother because I had been kicked out of the house.”

The best of her ordeal was given in the years following the birth of his eldest son. With the happiness to hold a baby in her arms, she fell into a long mental illness. The dark black complexion, the small size, she says: “I had mental disorders after my first.” Madness retracing its fate, she lives alongside her mother who strives to watch over her daughter.

However, she was far from her misfortunes. Surely in the prime of life at this time, Rosalie, who no longer remembers her early illness, now lives with the results of her involuntary unconsciousness. During that time, she gave birth twice. She said, her face sadly revealing: “I was twice pregnant during my mental illness. I first had a daughter and then twins, but I don't know the fathers of these children.”

Surrounded by her twins, Rosalie interrupts her speech for a moment. She is stared at by her sons. She smiles speaks in a low voice with her sons and continues: “My children do not want to be photographed. Besides, they tell me that they would have preferred that I too did not do it. Since, they are students and they are afraid that their classmates make fun of them. It was while being a maid-woman that I found a room where I lived with my children. I’ve worked a lot to make sure they’re left with the minimum.”

The children had always been able to count only on his mother who did not live long after her recovery. Rosalie lives in the Grand-Yoff district, Dakar. At the end of her strength, she went to see her older sister.

“When I couldn't afford to pay the rent anymore, I went to see my big sister with the same father and mother because I had been kicked out of the house.”

Renting in a populous neighborhood, her sister is hosting her... on the terrace. After the renovations in that house, she is relocated in the porch and slept under a mosquito net. Despite all his confusion begging for goodness from each other, Rosalie unconsciously points fingers at her potential benefactors. With a smile on her face, revealing her pigtails on her big head, she concludes: “I especially ask for help from Youssou Ndour, Papa Thione and El Hadji Diouf. I was born in the Youssou Ndour’s Medina too. We are all parents therefore.”
