“As the sacrament of marriage engages our whole life, without being able to take back what one gives, to marry a virgin is to say to one's spouse:” What I am offering you is me entirely, it's all my life, no one has ever had it before you, because even before knowing you, I chose to be faithful to you.”
Even if it means breaking down an open door, you might as well remember it: virginity does not only concern girls! Boys are just as much invited to be faithful in advance to the woman in their life. Also watch out for certain speeches which make virginity a purely “technical” element, reducing it to an intact hymen, limited to penetration. This also concerns practices such as sodomy or fellatio. A recent study showed that fellatio was on the rise among American teenagers, who saw it as a way to keep their virginity… What a hypocritical conception!
What if you've ever had sex?
No one is immune from a moment of weakness, under the pressure of an enterprising lover or the force of desire ... In this case, no drama: it is not a shame either, and the Church will obviously not reject you!
You can place this with confidence in the mercy of God, through reconciliation, and - why not - make this choice again to reserve yourself for the man or the woman "of your life". For God, it's never too late.”
