Why do women put themselves in danger just to have fleshy buttocks?
Awa probably doesn't realize the risks. What she sees, and appreciates, are the men who “praise” her shape. “The woman, the real woman, is curvy.”Updated on October 14, 2020, Seytoo
Women are willing to do anything for a plump butt, including swallowing pills that promote heavy weight gain and can have serious complications.
“Tassaba, do! »: Fatim, 36, has often heard this refrain supposed to praise the swaying of her generous buttocks, an asset of seduction that Malian women covet to the point of risking their health by consuming unsuitable or dangerous products. “Some look, follow you with their eyes... But others tell you things bluntly: ‘Look at those buttocks!’ Or ‘You have it, eh!” It upsets me (…) I'd rather be told that I have a pretty face,” complains Fatim.
The taste of some men for plump buttocks arose out of a “cultural question linked to female aesthetics. We like to guess through the loincloth of sufficiently rounded buttocks,” says Congolese historian Isidore Ndaywel. Even today, “badly off” women have a complexion, especially those who appreciate tight pants, dresses or skirts. So, to create an illusion, they find subterfuge. Oumou says: “When I was 18, I was thin and my friends told me that I had to put on some weight. For that I had to take C-4 or “Tresorix,” a drug that stimulates the appetite, available over the counter for a small fee. The young woman assures us that she has never tried the experiment.
In contrast, Sitan, 20, just graduating from high school, allowed herself to be tempted after an illness that caused her to lose “way too much weight.” She buys C-4 “in syrup and tablets. I put 60 tablets in the syrup product, mix, and then take it before sleeping. Sometimes I don't mix the syrup and the tablets. I take it once a week, sometimes every five days .” Before falling asleep, “some people swallow 10 pills with a large pot of corn porridge and two breads, then fall asleep. They can do this for a week, but they are never sure the targeted part is the one that will gain weight!,” adds Sitan.
Some women even swallow animal feed supplements or use a famous spice-based solid cooking broth as a suppository. Awa prefers broth concentrate to C-4: “I saw that I couldn't stand the effects of C-4. The drowsiness caused by these ‘vitamins’ does not suit me.” This 32-year-old hairdresser uses the “cube” once a week, and claims that it “only grows the butt.”
For Baudouin Buassa, professor of biochemistry and pathophysiology, the “cube” has no effect on the stoutness of the posterior and it warns against other methods that promote strong weight gain, or even obesity. Among the possible complications: “heart attack, arteritis of the lower limbs or a stroke (cerebrovascular accident)”, recalls Professor Buassa, who emphasizes that the use of the “cube” by the anal route can cause “cracks” prone to “risk of infection”.
