Many people believe that the swollen belly is caused by the lack of physical exercise and also the lack of a healthy diet. While this may be the most common case, there may also be other reasons that cause a swollen belly:

As we age, our metabolism tends to slow down. This means that you didn't burn calories as quickly or as easily as you did when you were younger. A slower metabolism can also result in additional fat storage, especially around the middle (belly).
