If, by chance, lice have appeared, how to get rid of what cannot be washed (down, pillows, combs, hair brushes, etc ...)? Just put these things, if possible, in the freezer, or outside. Lice should not survive it.

How to get rid of lice and nits?

It is often difficult to control lice when they have appeared. Here are some tips to avoid living a real ordeal.

Prevention

Adapt the hairstyle to your child to avoid catching lice. For girls, tie their hair to limit the catches offered to lice. Make mats or use barrettes. Use lavender essential oil. It is known to repel lice. Just put a small drop behind each ear in the morning.

Kill already settled lice and nits. There is a range of lotions, shampoos, gels, or even anti-lice foams. The main thing is to know which weapon to choose. Consult your doctor who will prescribe the most suitable for your needs.

For maximum effectiveness, apply the product to wet hair and let it sit. Then style the hair with a fine comb to remove dead nits.

Finally, reapply the lotion a week later in case nits have survived.
